Warm Up Your Bathroom With Timber Tones

Turn your bathroom into a warm and inviting sanctuary with timber tones – here are three looks to show you how it’s done.

You’ll want the bathrooms in your new home to feel timeless, comfortable and warm – and that’s where timber tones come in. Timber is the antidote to sterile; whether you’re after a dark and moody look or a light and coastal bathroom, it’s the perfect way to add texture and dimension.

As the centrepiece of your bathroom, your vanity is the ideal spot to introduce warm timber tones, as seen in some of the 11 beautiful bathroom vignettes on display in our Spectra Showroom. When you come along for your Spectra colour selection appointment, you’ll see a huge range of bathroom products and finishes on display. You're also welcome to visit our showroom on Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm, or take a virtual tour here.

Here are three ways to use your vanity to integrate the latest timber tones into your bathroom, inspired by the beautiful vignettes at our Spectra Showroom.

Warm Up Your Bathroom With Timber Tones

For a classic, timeless look choose (1) Laminex Classic Oak in a Chalk Finish, (2) Siema Plati 204 basins in White Gloss and (3) Phoenix Radii Basin Mixer Set in Chrome.

Look One: Timeless Oak

Create tranquil, spa-like vibes and make classic oak the star of the show. For this vanity and adjoining cupboard, we’ve chosen the warm, honeyed tones of Laminex Classic Oak in a Chalk Finish, which feels wonderfully soft and textural to the touch. A section of open shelving breaks up the solid lines of the vanity and creates a space for display.

Emphasise the contemporary look and feel of the space by pairing your oak-like cabinetry with a thick-edged, marble-look benchtop – we’ve chosen Caesarstone Symphony Grey. From there, create a sense of continuity with the stone-look wall and floor tiles in tonal shades of grey, such as Beaumont Tiles Lux Lupis Grey Polished.

Handle-free drawers, wall-mounted tapware (Phoenix Radii Basin Mixer Set in Chrome), and sunken rectangular basins (Siema Plati 204 basins in White Gloss) minimise visual clutter and keep the focus on your bathroom’s beautiful materiality.

Finish off the look as we’ve done, with a pair of simple black wall lights either side of the mirror cabinet (Beacon Lighting MFL lights By Masson Cuba in Black).

Contrast dark, timber-tone draws with (1) MAXX Wall Basin/Bath Mixer Set 220mm Backplate(2) Siema Limni 530 basin in White Gloss and (3) Häfele Design H1920 Furniture handle.

Look Two: Two-Tone Beauty

Add depth and dimension to your bathroom by using two different timber tones on your vanity.

Take your cues from this stunning set-up by using deep and dramatic timber-tone drawers with a natural-looking woodgrain finish; we’ve used Laminex Burnished Wood in Nuance Finish. Contrast this with a warm, mid-tone timber on your mirror cabinet and vanity open shelving, such as the smooth-touch Laminex Natural Walnut in Natural Finish we’ve chosen here.

Play up the contrasting theme by topping your vanity with a pale and glossy benchtop with a chunky edge – we’ve chosen glossy Caesarstone Bianco Drift, which features touches of light brown that tie in with the timber tones.

Stone-look wall and floor tiles with intricate grey and white veining, such as the Beaumont Tiles Lux Pulpis Polished tiles we’ve used here, add drama and create a beautiful canvas to showcase your natural timber tones.

Add sophistication with (1) Fienza Sarah Semi-inset basins in White Gloss, (2) SACHI Wall Basin Mixer Set Backplate 180mm in Matt Black and (3) Häfele Design H1950 Furniture handle.

Look Three: Rich & Dramatic

Give your bathroom a sophisticated, bespoke look with inset cabinetry (where the doors of your vanity sit inside the frame) in a rich timber tone. For this beautiful vanity, we’ve chosen Laminex Blackened Legno, a warm dark-brown woodgrain with subtle colour variation, in a soft and textural Chalk Finish.

Simple black D handles (Hafele 106.69.443 Black) and tapware (Alder Sachi Basin Mixer Set in Matte Black) provide functionality, without detracting from the beauty of the timber-effect joinery.

A benchtop in finely veined grey Caesarstone Excava adds to the luxe earthy feel, with a shadow edge adding another layer of interest. To add some lightness to the scheme, we’ve chosen glossy white semi-inset basins (Fienza Sarah Semi-inset basins in White Gloss).

Meanwhile, a wall of finger mosaic tiles (Beaumont Tiles Fire Fingers Mist Gloss tiles) behind the vanity adds a further dose of texture and depth to this beautiful scheme.
