Meet Rothwell 33 - an inviting and elegant home that entertainers will love.

Love hosting friends and family? Learn all about our inviting and elegant new display home in Melbourne's North, which ticks every box when it comes to entertaining.

We invite you to step inside our exceptional new display home – Rothwell 33 at Aurora Estate. Located just 25km north of Melbourne CBD, this affordably priced four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home offers luxurious open-plan living, a separate kids’ zone and a theatre room for hosting your own movie nights, all conveniently set across one level. Decorated with our new design theme, Minerals, the display home feels both sophisticated and inviting – a look and feel that entertainers will love.

We spoke to the interior designers behind the space, Ricky D’Alesio and Jessica Hodges, to learn more about it.

Q: Tell us about the new Rothwell 33

D’Alesio A: It’s such a beautifully designed home – you’ve got everything the entertainer could ever need, from a stunning, open-plan kitchen with a generous walk-in pantry, an open-plan meals and living areas that lead onto a covered outdoor entertaining area, plus a separate theatre room for weekend movie marathon sessions.

The accommodation is superb, with a huge master retreat complete with walk-in ‘robe and ensuite, and a secluded kids’ zone with three big bedrooms and a dedicated study nook.

And it’s all conveniently located on one level, which keeps the price down and makes life easy for those who prefer not to go up and downstairs.

Hodges A: It’s the thoughtfully considered details that elevate this home to something really special. For example, you can access the pantry straight from the garage, which is perfect when you’ve got your hands full of groceries. You’ve got extra-high ceilings, which makes the whole house feel spacious and bright. Plus there’s gorgeous built-in timber joinery throughout the home, which makes it easy to keep clutter under control and creates a truly designer look.

Q: What is the new Minerals decorating theme?

D’Alesio A: It’s all about creating a home that feels fresh, calm and sophisticated, with chevron oak flooring, gentle, natural tones of grey-green, caramel, buff and dusty teal, with accents of brushed gold. It’s an elevated twist on the ever-popular coastal look – and it’s one that you can expect to see trending in the design world in the year ahead.

Hodges A: Texture is key. Rothwell 33 features curvy boucle armchairs, gorgeous tiles with an organic finish in the main bathroom and pantry, v-groove panelling in the entry, living area and master retreat, and ribbed Laminex detailing to the vanity in the master ensuite. Together, they create a really cocooning feel.

Q: What are some features buyers will love?

D’Alesio A: The opulent and spacious feel of the master suite – it’s not something you’d normally see in a single-storey home. The panelling on the ceiling in the open-plan area and way it carries through to the ceiling of the master suite to create a sense of cohesion. And the beautifully designed laundry, with its organic-tiled splashback and timber built-ins – it’s a laundry you’d actually want to spend time in.

Hodges A: Characterful touches such as the brushed bronze tapware and handles in the bathrooms, the timber-clad island with a chunky Caesarstone benchtop in the heart of the kitchen, the gorgeous built-in joinery, and the way the home connects with the outdoors, such as the huge corner window in the ensuite.

Minerals Style: Get the Look

Love the sophisticated look of our Minerals decorating theme? Recreating it in your own home is easy – here’s how:

  • Add pattern: Introducing pattern to the foundation elements in a room, such as walls and flooring, will add depth to your scheme. Think chevron or herringbone timber flooring, V-groove panelling to walls and ceilings, and patterned wallpaper.
  • Introduce timber: When it comes to joinery for your kitchen, bathrooms and built-ins, opt for a warm and timeless timber such as oak to bring in that natural feel.
  • Touches of luxe: Metallics such as gold or brushed bronze in tapware, handles and lighting add a touch of elegance.
  • Character tiles: Bring personality and interest to the scheme by using handcrafted tiles and those with uneven, organic edges to splashbacks in your kitchen, laundry and bathrooms.
